Shayna Walker

Shayna Walker Weddle, founder and owner of Williamsburg Wedding Design (formerly Weddings by Shayna) celebrates her 13th year of service in the hospitality and special event industry in 2010. She is certified as an International Tour Director and as a Local Tour Guide by the International Tour Management Institute (ITMI, 1997). She has worked for destination management companies, providing convention services and transportation logistics support. She spent three years assisting the Manager of Food Production and Menu Planning for a major cruise line, and coordinating in-port special events worldwide (a job that sounds like a lot of fun, but involves sitting in a cubicle juggling the logistics of weather, current national security status, thousands of travel agents and dozens of different languages...perfect for a wedding planner!). Shayna established her first event planning business in California in 2001 on a part-time basis, and upon relocating founded Weddings by Shayna (now Williamsburg Wedding Design) in August of 2004.

Shayna is an alumna of the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. She attained a BA degree in History with High Honors in 2000.

In 2005 Shayna was selected as one of Hampton Roads' "10 Under 30" - ten professional businesswomen under 30 years old. Sadly, she is no longer eligible to win this title (based on age, not quality of service!).

In addition to coordinating weddings throughout Hampton Roads and destinations beyond, Shayna publishes the Where to Wed bridal guide, and has produced small bridal shows, seminars and industry networking events.

Shayna's current project is her 50-state, 14-month research tour of bridal shows in preparation for her first print book, a guide to bridal show marketing for wedding professionals.

A trained speaker, Shayna is available to address groups of all sizes on topics ranging from Education & Ethics in the Wedding Industry to Motherhood and the Wedding Planner.
